1–2 p.m. (Eastern)
REGISTRATION CLOSES ON 8/15 AT 11AM EASTERN
One year after we addressed this topic via webinar, the ever-changing and much-watched legal framework regarding transgender students continues to evolve across multiple contexts. The U.S. Department of Education has issued proposed (and soon final) rules addressing athletic eligibility and sex-based discrimination, as well as guidance materials. States have passed laws on athletic participation and medical treatment. Federal courts have weighed in on bathroom access policies and staff religious accommodations. Given these developments, can school attorneys finally give school district clients “the big picture”? Is there one? Join the presenters for a detailed update and thoughtful synthesis of current legal standards regarding transgender students in K-12 public schools.
