  This organization works with more than 700 schools in 33 states to enhance student learning and improve community life by engaging students in community-based public work. • National Rural Education Association
  The National Rural Education Association (NREA) is the oldest established national organization of its kind and traces its origins to 1907 when it was founded as the Department of Rural Education. It has evolved as a respected organization of rural school administrators, teachers, board members, regional service agency personnel, researchers, business and industry representatives and others interested in maintaining the visibility of rural school systems across America.
