Thomas J. Callahan
Tom Callahan has more than 28 years of leadership experience building high performance teams and guiding expansion in the education support services environment. An accomplished marketer and operations strategist, his vision and expertise in business development have facilitated notable growth at Sodexho. Tom’s achievements and reputation have been noted in trade journals including Foods Service Manager, Restaurants and Institutions, Food Management, Food Service Director and The School Administrator.
Tom began his career with Sodexho as a operations manager at a number of Fortune 100 dining operations in New York City. He joined the School Services division in 1982 as a general manager and quickly advanced to group general manager, district manager, vice president and senior vice president with operations responsibility for the east region K-12 food service and facilities management business. Since 1999, Tom has led the national marketing effort and focuses on brand building, innovation, and performance excellence. Offering a rare blend of creative and operational strengths, he demonstrates his emphasis on customer engagement in the development of Sodexho’s offer and positioning. Tom also represents the U.S. education interests in international marketing roles at Sodexho Alliance.
A believer in life-long learning, Tom completed his MBA at Loyola College of Maryland in 2005. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in business at the State University of New York in Buffalo and an Associates Degree of Applied Science in Hospitality Management at SUNY Ag and Tech at Delhi, New York. Tom serves on the Board of Trustees for the National School Boards Foundation and National Teachers Hall of Fame and is active in the American Marketing Association, School Nutrition Association and Loyola Executive MBA Alumni Association. Originally from Central New York, Tom and his family reside in Olney, Maryland.
