Strengthen and Support America's Public Schools

NSBA's Office of Advocacy represents the interests of the nation's 95,000 local school board members before Congress. NSBA's Advocacy staff gives you the information and tools you need to advocate for federal laws that strengthen our local public schools. NSBA's priority issues for the 110th Congress include the following:

Improve the No Child Left Behind Act
Increase federal funding for public education for programs such as Title I and IDEA/special education
Strengthen teacher quality
Expand and improve early education
Help schools purchase technology (E-rate)
Prevent vouchers that allow public dollars to be spent on private schools
Learn about other legislative issues affecting public education

U.S. Department of Education Proposed New NCLB Regulations
The U.S. Department of Education proposed NCLB regulations on Wednesday, April 23rd, that would place additional burdensome requirements on school districts. Read NSBA’s statement on the proposed regulations.
