NSBA’s Council of School Attorneys

The Council is a national network of attorneys representing K-12 Public School Districts.

Seminars and Meetings

NSBA’s Council of School Attorneys (COSA) hosts its Annual School Law Seminar in the Spring immediately preceding NSBA’s Annual Conference and Exposition, and its Annual School Law Practice Seminar in the Fall.  Both seminars cover the most timely topics in school law, including No Child Left Behind, special education, free speech, and much more.

2008 School Law Practice Seminar will be held October 30 – November 1, 2008 at the Westin Alexandria Hotel, Alexandria Virginia.  Seminar topics include dealing with difference – diversity, discomfort or discrimination; FMLA; evaluation of employees; an update on the Courts, and much more.  Click on the seminar link for full program information including a registration form.

2009 Annual School Law Seminar will be held April 2-4 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt Hotel, San Diego, California.  This seminar immediately precedes NSBA’s Annual Conference and Exposition to be held at the San Diego Convention Center, April 4-7, 2009.  Program information and a registration form will be available soon.

Audio Conferences/Webinars

The Council hosts approximately 6 audio conferences/webinars per year.  Past topics have included negotiating superintendent contracts; navigating school board politics; religion and schools, and much more.
