Benefits of Membership
Technology Leadership Network (TLN) Membership
Delivers in a Big Way!
In order to better assist your district, the TLN member benefits are delivered around four key areas designed specifically to assist in helping you educate the community you serve:
ADVOCACY
NSBA provides a national advocacy presence like no other organization and has one of the largest Advocacy staffs in the education community. Not consultants, but NSBA employees that can answer questions about legislation that is working its way through Congress. But Advocacy doesn't stop there. Education policy has legal ramifications and NSBA's legal staff is a force to be reckoned with. They file more Amicus briefs than all the education organizations combined.
- Access to NSBA's Advocacy and Legal Staff
- Action Alerts
- Special Briefings
- NSBA's Legal Clips - TLN members can opt-in to receive this weekly update on interesting legal issues.
KNOWLEDGE
Making choices cannot happen without the knowledge to make informed decisions. Whether it's 1:1 computing or your district's approach to social networking, decisions can't be made without the research, the findings, and the experience of others that have faced the same decisions.
- TLN Grant Connector (new) - This premier benefit exclusively for TLN members provides direct links to grants and funding sources for education technology applicable funding opportunities.
- Site Visits - Each year three district Site Visits are scheduled. Each visit is designed to showcase exemplary educational technology at work. Better than reading a case study or even watching a video, these onsite visits give you and your team a hands-on perspective.
- TLNews - Published monthly, this electronic newsletter provides a wealth of news, practical information, and insight.
- TLN E-mail Group - The TLN E-mail Group gives Network members the opportunity to participate in a variety of discussions about the issues that matter. It's also a great way to ask for and give advice about current technology challenges ... from funding to privacy, curriculum integration, to data-driven instructional intervention. If it's timely, our members are talking about it online.
- Special TLN Publications: Covering technology planning, legal issues, assistive technology, and information for school board members, these publications regularly help TLN members with planning, presentations, and policy direction.
- Recognition Programs - Leaders recognizing leaders ... that's positive reinforcement at its best. We salute districts that have made innovative strides in technology for achievement.
- TLN Career Website - TLN member districts may list open technology positions free of charge (non-TLN members may post positions for a minimal fee); anyone may search the listings for free.
