Learn How You Can Get Involved
The education of our children must become a top priority of our nation's policymakers. In this time of shrinking budgets and increasing mandates, our leaders in Congress must understand that education is too important an investment to let slide.
You can make a difference. Members of Congress listen to their constituents back home, particularly those who have knowledge in the area they are advocating. We have step-by-step guides and resources to help you become effective communicators with your members of Congress.
Summer Recess 2019
Every summer, NSBA develops a congressional recess and grassroots engagement guide to provide you with background information on key issues from our Advocacy Agenda that are impacting public education during this session of Congress. The guide provides talking points and tips to help you prepare for meetings with legislators and their staff, as well as grassroots activities and social media engagement tips to help elevate your advocacy. It also includes resources you can use during the upcoming midterm elections. This year’s guide is forthcoming.
