NSBA's Equity Symposium West provides a forum for school board members, public school advocates, and community leaders to examine equity opportunities, develop actionable solutions to help eliminate barriers to student success, and discuss the legalities of equity in public K-12 schools.

As education leaders, you are empowered to be change agents, and the need for that change has never been more apparent than now. This symposium will provide attendees with the tools to go past conversations and engage in actions for equity.

Hotel, Travel & Safety Protocols

  • Safety and Health Protocols

    To mitigate the risk of infection during the in-person event, our safety team is discussing a range of measures such as contactless registration, physical distancing, face coverings, regular cleaning, one-directional aisles, designated entrances, and exits, and seating limitations in meeting rooms. We will also promote good hygiene practices such as frequent handwashing and the use of hand sanitizer.

    We will share more information about protocols that will be in place for all participants at the conference hotel as we get closer to the event.

  • Reservations

    Information about reservations and the group rate for NSBA’s Equity Symposium West will be available soon.

    The cut-off date for the hotel is Wednesday, September 29, 2021. Reservations made after this date will be made on space/rate available basis. All reservations must be guaranteed by a major credit card or check in the amount of the first night’s stay. Do not send a check for a hotel deposit to NSBA. Deposits are refundable only if reservations are canceled seventy-two (72) hours before your reserved arrival date.
  • Transportation

    The Omni Oklahoma City Hotel is located approximately 10 miles from Will Rogers World Airport in downtown Oklahoma City. Uber, Lyft & Taxis have separate pick-up locations at Will Rogers World Airport.

    Uber and Lyft, known as Transportation Network Companies (TNC), have a designated pick-up area on the upper level of the terminal, outside of the United Airlines ticket counter. The area is marked as "TNC Pick Up".

    Taxis pick-up on the lower level of the terminal, outside of baggage claim, in the first lane of the transportation plaza. Prices vary among companies and minimum fares may be charged. Rates are posted on the exterior of the vehicles.
  • Parking

    Omni Oklahoma City offers overnight valet parking at $28/day plus tax, hourly valet parking starts at $10 plus tax from arrival up to four (4) hours and $20 plus tax from four (4) hours up to ten (10) hours.
